Legrant supported a refund from an account in cyprus

Over the past six months, European banks have significantly tightened the requirements for servicing accounts for both new and current customers. Legrant's client, an international freight forwarder, did not formally comply with several new requirements, therefore, the bank decided to close the account.

After the account was closed, one of the counterparties transferred money to the client according to the old requisites. However, the Cypriot bank was in no hurry to fulfill the client’s order and transfer funds to an account of another bank. In order to speed up the procedure, the client applied to Legrant.

Legarnt's lawyers contacted representatives of the bank, agreed a refund procedure, and also supported the design and submission of all necessary documents for transfer. As a result, the bank promptly transferred funds.

The case was supported by Legrant senior lawyer Danil Hristich under the supervision of Tatyana Titarenko, managing partner.
